Hi there, welcome to my blog! I’m Alia, a young mom and homemaker who likes to prioritize a homemade lifestyle, from-scratch meals, and practical, aesthetic, healthy living. Some of the ways you’ll see this on my blog are through knitting and sewing patterns, fresh-milled flour recipes, and my homelife lists and routines.
I was raised in a Christian household, homeschooled on a few acres of wooded land. My upbringing really sparked my love for the handmade and inspired me to pursue a homestead lifestyle. With this blog, I want to document my successes and lessons while helping guide others on this same journey. I’d love it if you join me as I switch my baking entirely to fresh-milled grain, practice keeping a ginger bug, and find routines and systems that work for me in different seasons of motherhood.
Currently, my husband and I are practicing and exploring the homesteading we can do while waiting and saving for our forever property. We live on a ¼ acre in the suburbs of southern Wisconsin, raising our two young children, but we dream of much more land and many more children to come. My blog will show a lot of “urban homesteading” options and practices that we will eventually carry over to our “real” homestead where we can add animals and larger agricultural endeavors.
Thank you for joining me, and I’m excited to see where this takes us!
